One day you will die; Don’t forget to remind yourself!

We are all going to die one day so take your time,  relax and think about what is making you feel stressed.

This is a good way to deal with negative emotions you may feel throughout a day.

Analyze what is going on in your life and think about the pros, the cons and how you will feel when whatever is troubling you is gone.

This may sound like some hippie stuff but become a better listener- If birds are chirping outside, pause to take a moment and listen to the birds chirping. Stop, pause and pet your dog or cat and appreciate them. Love them and be thankful to have all these little things we love in our lives but don’t appreciate nearly as much.

Take a sip of coffee and enjoy it. Smell the aroma of the beans and be thankful you have the ability to drink it. Be thankful you have eyes and the ability to see and read this blog right now. Not everybody can see.

Be thankful you have a home and a bed to sleep in. Many people around the world do not have this luxury.

Take a deep breath in, hold it and exhale. Be thankful you have the ability to breathe because because there are many who no longer can.

Pet your dog again, I just did.

Reminding yourself you are going to die is a great way to narrow the focus on the things you are thankful for in life. Life can be so crazy with all the “to-dos,” tasks, chores and jobs it can be easy to allow gratitude to sink  away, but if you take a moment each day to appreciate what you have in life you may live a more fulfilling life.
